- Who Are We?
VFS Global is a commercial company, working in partnership
with UK Border Agency in Nigeria to provide services to
help people apply for visa to enter the UK.
- How Can We Help You?
You will find information on this site, supplied by UK Border
Agency, about how to apply for a UK visa, if you need one.
From this site you can also use the VFS free email service
to obtain the same information. VFS also offer a telephone
information service. Contact details can be found on the
'contact us' page on this website.
VFS also manages visa application centres for the UK Border
Agency here in Nigeria, where you should submit your visa
application, supporting documents and biometric data. The
address details of the visa application centres can be found
in the 'contact us' section
of this website.
- Who Decides If I Will Get A Visa?
Your visa application will be processed and decided
by UK Border Agency staff in Nigeria. All applicants should
apply at their nearest visa application centre. From 2 November
all student, first time visitor and points-based applications
will be processed by the UK Border Agency in Abuja. Your
documents and passport will be forwarded by commercial courier
from the visa application centre where you made your application
to the UK Border Agency at the British High Commission in
Abuja, where your student, first time visitor and points-based
visa application will be processed and a decision taken.
There will be no extra cost for these internal courier services.
Other types of visa application submitted at either the
Ikeja or Lekki visa application centres will continue
to be considered by the UK Border Agency in Lagos.
VFS staff do not play any part in or influence the outcome
of your visa application. If any VFS member of staff claims
to be able to influence your application, you should inform
the nearest British diplomatic mission as soon as possible.
- Fraud & scams
Once you have paid the visa fee, there is nothing else to
pay, either before or after the decision has been made on
your application. If anyone contacts you and asks for more
money in connection with your application, it is a scam.
If anyone tells you that they can get you a visa if you
pay a bribe, it is a scam. Help stamp out scams and corruption
by contacting us on Lagos.VisaFraud@fco.gov.uk.
Any information that you give will be strictly confidential
and will only be seen by UK anti-corruption officers.
- Where Can I Get Advice?
VFS Global and its staff cannot give you advice on how to
complete your application, or what type of visa you should
apply for. If you need help with your application or advice
about the UK's immigration rules and requirements, you should
seek advice from a qualified immigration adviser. In the
UK immigration advisers regulated by the Office of the Immigration
Services Commissioner (OISC - www.oisc.gov.uk).
You can also obtain advice from legally qualified professionals
regulated by designated professional bodies. A list of legally
qualified professionals who can advise on immigration matters
can be downloaded from the following websites:
