  • Security information

    Due to security reasons the following items will not be permitted inside the visa application centre or stored in the premises:

    1. All battery operated or electronic gadgets such as cameras, audio/video cassettes, compact discs, MP3's, floppies, laptops, or portable music players.
    2. All bags such as travel bags, back packs, briefcases, suitcases, leather, jute or cloth bags and zip folders. Small bags, such as ladies handbags may be permitted but they will be searched by security staff before being allowed into the visa application centre.
    3. Sealed envelopes or packages.
    4. Any inflammable item such as matchboxes/ lighters/ fuel.
    5. Any sharp objects such as scissors, pen knives or nail filers.
    6. Weapon or weapon like objects or explosive material of any kind.


    Other items may be prohibited based on security staff discretion.

    Please note:
    There are no facilities at the visa application centre to store prohibited items. Applicants are requested to make alternative arrangements to store their belongings.

    Only applicants will be admitted to the visa application centre - with the exceptions of children who should be accompanied by a responsible adult; carers of disabled applicants and interpreters for the hearing-impaired.

    The UK Border Agency and the UK VFS visa application centres in Nigeria will be closed on the following days in 2010.
