Long Term Visas - Message from the British High Commission/British
Deputy Commission.
We welcome your interest in wishing to visit the UK. If you are
a regular visitor to the UK you may wish to consider applying
for a Premium visa valid for multiple entries during a two year
period.
Our new biometric visa means that we can easily identify you
as the person we know and trust - we won't mistake you for another
person who has the same name. It also protects you and your
family from identity theft, and, by providing a more secure
visa system, protects you from crime and terrorism.
Because the biometric visa means we can be confident about
your identity, we are encouraging our most valued, regular travellers,
to apply for a Premium two year visa. It marks you out as someone
we trust, and means that you only have to enrol your biometric
data once during the two years, whereas our standard visa is
only valid for six months and biometrics have to be provided
each time a new visa is applied for.
If your passport expires before the visa we will arrange to transfer
the visa into a new passport. (There may be a small charge for
this service).
We plan in the future that your biometric data will facilitate
your quick entry to the UK through automated entry gates. But
even now our trusted travellers can enrol in our biometric
entry system, Iris and use automated booths to enter the
UK, avoiding queues, and speeding you on your way.
